The natural bonds between humans and their pets have stretched back for thousands of years. Recently, with the advent of air travel and high-rise buildings in particular, restrictions have been placed on the ability to travel and live with pets, some of whom have been lifelong companions.
Our program began, when Dr. Craig Twentyman, the founder of RegaPet.com, tried to get his puppy Precious into his high rise apartment building. Dr. Twentyman (who was born in the Chinese year of the Dog), along with another doctor (Dr. Chin Y. Lin), empathized with many of their patients who came to them over the years with housing problems for their pets and also with difficulties with the airlines (which have recently established new regulations regarding how service animal letters have to be written to be accepted). This website is in response to these problems; we hope to help the many animal lovers confronted by restrictive living and travelling policies and as part of this, we make donations to several programs that support pets and give shelter to animals.
